Originals: pay as you go with Ink

There is no subscription for Originals. You buy Ink, spend it when you create, and every step names its price before you press it. Ink never expires, and a step that fails returns its Ink to your balance.

Write the chapter

Altair reads your script and plans the whole chapter. You only pay for the steps you run.

Cast and world (first chapter) — 20 Ink. One flat fee, whether your story has two characters or twenty. Altair reads the script, builds the world and works out who is in it. Drawing them is priced separately below
Cast and world (later chapters) — 8 Ink. Also flat. Rolls your existing cast forward instead of building from scratch, so it costs less
Plan the shots — 50 Ink. Altair stages the whole chapter for you, plus 1 Ink per image prompt it writes. Same price to re-plan
Plan the shots yourself — Free. You group the lines on The Cut, so there is no planning fee. Costs 1 Ink to set the scenes
Write the narration — 10 Ink. Turns the chapter into a spoken voiceover script

Each shot is one image, priced by the engine you choose. Faster, simpler engines cost less; showcase engines cost more.

Swift — 8 Ink. Follows direction closely and keeps characters on model
Ultra — 11 Ink / 20 Ink. Flagship beauty for the shots that carry the chapter (standard / high detail)
Deluxe — 14 Ink / 21 Ink. Rich detail and steady likeness for showcase pages (standard / high detail)
Studio — 28 Ink / 28 Ink. The finest detail we offer, and the best at character sheets (standard / high detail)
Character design — 18 Ink each. Per tracked character, so a bigger cast costs more. Priced below what the same engine costs for a panel (28 Ink), because meeting your cast should not be the expensive part. Background extras are free: they are described in the shot instead
Shot prompt — 1 Ink / shot. Translating one planned shot into the words your engine understands. Cached, so re-rolling a picture never pays it twice

Voice and video

Give the chapter a voice and a finished cut.

Voice performance — 1 Ink / 500 characters. Every line performed and timed to its moment
Premium voice — 1 Ink / 50 characters. The cinema-grade engine. It costs far more to run, so 1 Ink buys less of it
Video cut — Free. Encoded in your browser, so it costs nothing
Editor project file — Free. Stills, audio and a pre-cut timeline for your own editor

What a first chapter costs

About 495 Ink for a full first chapter, which is roughly $4.95. Later chapters cost less because your cast is already designed.

How charging works

You pay for work that succeeds

Ink is taken when a step starts and given straight back to your balance if it fails. A render that errors, times out or comes back empty costs you nothing.

Ink purchases are final

Ink reaches your account the moment you pay, so purchases are non-refundable and Ink cannot be exchanged for money. Failed steps return Ink to your balance, which is not the same as a refund.

Re-rolling a shot costs again

Every new picture is new work, so recreating a shot charges the engine price again. Re-writing its prompt does not: that part is cached on the shot.

Nothing is drawn before you approve

The cast is the one approval gate. You see every character design and sign off before a single panel is rendered, so you never pay for art built on a cast you did not want.

Re-planning is a fresh storyboard

Re-planning re-runs the whole staging pass, so it costs the 50 Ink storyboard price again. Changing one shot does not.

Ink never expires

There is no subscription and no monthly reset. What you buy stays in your wallet until you spend it.
